After letting this painting dry for a few months (about four), I decided to do a little more work on it. I had looked at it a lot, and knew I wasn’t fully satisfied with how the clouds looked. There were also some of the under-drawing visible. So I darkened the shadows more, brightened the horizons, and reworked the clouds, and improved the water. Sounds like a lot of improvement, right?
Rendering water can be very interesting and complex – same for clouds. This time I worked in some pink into the clouds, instead of the mostly shades of yellow and orange clouds I had previously.
